MIND-IHOP

A longitudinal cohort study of HIV-infected persons hospitalized with pneumonia in two settings: Mulago Hospital, Kampala and San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco

Study period: October 2008 – December 2013.

Brief description: Part of the Lung HIV Study, a network of 8 research programs and a central data coordinating center whose shared goal is to study the spectrum of HIV-associated lung disease and create a specimen bank and accompanying clinical database to catalyze future studies in the field. The MIND-IHOP study evaluates the diagnosis and epidemiology of HIV-associated pulmonary infections and the human responses to those infections. Collaborators: MU-UCSF Research Collaboration.
