The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is pleased to announce its participation in AFRICAI-RI, a new Horizon Europe Global Health EDCTP3 project establishing Africa’s first federated medical imaging research infrastructure. Bringing together 14 partners from across Africa and Europe, AFRICAI-RI will connect hospitals, researchers, and innovators to co-develop ethical and trustworthy AI solutions for major health challenges such as tuberculosis and pneumonia. The project focuses on strengthening local capacity, enabling secure data collaboration, and ensuring that AI innovation is built with Africa, for Africa.
